Kosabeck Consulting Services Inc. developed the Emergency Response and Health and Safety Plan that this corportation operates under for their logging operations. As part of the safety program, a testing program was developed which included 'mock accidents' with all Canfor contractors. Every contractor was required to be tested on a one or two-year cycle which included staging a 'life-threatening' accident in the bush. The contractor is required to provide on-scene patient care to the level of Alberta Standard 1ST Aid and ensure adequate communication to secure outside medical assistance from the local ambulance services. This has been a very successful program and boasts the following statistics:
- Hines Creek Division - 30+ exercises over the past 6 years,
- Grande Prairie Divsion - 20+ exercises over the past 5 years, and
- Chetwynd Division - 3 exercises over the past 3 years.
